Following on from the European Court of Justice condemnation of Britain regarding its implementation of the Working Time Directive, it now seems that employers will be wise to not ignore their workers' rights to rest periods.
To avoid breaching the WTD, good employers should take a proactive role in making sure that their workers' rest periods are actually taken.
It is unclear however, just how far employers will now be expected to go in ensuring that rest breaks are taken.
