  • The Religion or Belief Regulations 2003 did not entitle Ms Ladele in her position as a registrar to refuse to carry out civil partnership duties that had been assigned to her.
  • Ms Ladele's religious beliefs did not entitle her to discriminate against same sex couples
  • The Court of Appeal ruled that the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2007 took precedence over rights otherwise held because of religious belief or faith
